Who is the course for
Yacht sailing mile building Trips are a great way to get out on the water, build up some more miles and experience. The goal is to sail across the channel, this is 60 miles so some proper off shore sailing. requiring you to learn great preparation for sea, passage planning and don’t forget your passport
With all sailing, we are guided by the weather so you will start in the evening to prepare of the passage, look at the forecast, plan the passage and get the victualing for the trip. We would then look to sail across the channel leaving early in the morning.
Course Content
Proposed itinerary is to depart Brighton early hours, sail the 60 miles across the channel(straight distance so expect more) and head to Fecamp. If all goes to plan you will arrive in Fecamp for the evening and have an evening out in France. Next day we would normally have an easier day sail, maybe heading to Dieppe. We generally recommend not taking part in our activities if you’re pregnant, as being on the water can involve movement and conditions that aren’t always predictable.
If you do feel comfortable taking part, we usually suggest no later than around 21 weeks, but this is very much a personal decision. Everyone’s pregnancy is different, so please go with what feels right for you and consider speaking to your healthcare professional if you’re unsure.
If you let our team know in advance, we’re always happy to have a chat and help you decide what’s best for you.
