RYA Training course : Age 16+

The Personal Watercraft Proficiency (PWC) course for the UK. Some countries in Europe will prefer the International Certificate of Competence which you can gain from the RYA Powerboat level 2 or PWC. Once you have your certificate from the course you can apply to the RYA for your ICC.

None.

30 minutes or 1 hour

Ag 18+ can for drive, age 12+ to ride

We have the latest Yamaha models that deliver unbelievable high-speed and acceleration with great manoeuvrability.

Most weekends March to November. If not dates are available please contact us. We can also schedule private RYA PWC course on our jet skis.

We prefer you to use our jet skis as the instructor then has a jet ski or RIB to teach from. If your jet ski is based in Brighton Marina or you can get it to the marina then it is possible to use your own jet ski.

The Jet Ski's run from our base in Brighton Marina: Pontoon 6, Brighton Marina, Brighton, East Sussex BN2 5UP, UK.

We provide wetsuits but if you have one please bring it. Also bring swim ware and a towel. If you are doing the RYA training course will need two passport photos for your RYA certificate.

Part of the enjoyment of jet skiing is being out in the elements, so it is important to be versatile to make the best of the conditions. If we train on a day due to weather conditions we will endeavour to cover theory and other useful skills such as mooring practice. At times we might cut short a course in which case you will be offered further days/times at another suitable date.

Yes, in sunny Spain! We offer the RYA PWC course from our base in central Barcelona. For more information: www.barcelonawatersports.es

Before the start of the course we will ask for medical details and contact details for your child. You will also be able to request that they sign themselves in and out each day. Without this permission we will contact you to ensure that they are ok to make their own way home at the end of the session. Likewise if they do not arrive in the morning and we are expecting them we will also contact you. If they have permission to sign themselves out we will be happy to let them go.

The group size on the Teen Activity Week is fairly small so the group tends to stay together as one. If the group does split at any time they will always be able to stay with friends. We have seen some really good friendships grow over the week and the youngsters have gone on to continue watersports as friends for years afterwards.

All you need to bring with you is swimwear and a towel. We have wetsuits in all shapes and sizes which you are welcome to borrow, we will provide wet shoes and a buoyancy aid and then all the equipment (there is no additional charge) The towel is for showering off afterwards.

Hove Lagoon is ideal for non swimmers as it is only waist deep. If you fall off your board you will be able to stand up and then get back on your board. You will also be wearing a buoyancy aid for added confidence.

To begin with everyone starts with a small sail, some are smaller than others. The more you practice the stronger you will get until you are able to work up to the larger sails. You will also need different sail sizes depending on the wind conditions but that will all be explained to you on your course.

Swimwear and a towel. We will provide wetsuit, buoyancy aid and wet shoes. If you have any of the above you are welcome to bring them. The towel is for showering off afterwards.

There is a variety of boards depending on peoples, size, ability and what they are doing? If you are learning to SUP you will use one type of board, if you are learning to surf or race you will use different boards, if you are a group wanting a laugh or a challenge we have an XL SUP which will take up to 8 people.

All beginners will start on the board by kneeling. As and when people are ready to stand up they will do so but if it takes some people a little longer that is not a problem.

Lesson take place in the flat sheltered waters on the inner harbour at Brighton Marina. It is not ;possible to go on the sea from here.

We have wetsuits in all shapes and sizes so you are welcome to borrow one of these (no additional charge).

You just need to bring swimwear and towel, we will provide a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and wet shoes. If you have any of the above you are very welcome to bring your own.

All you need to bring on the day is swimwear and a towel. We will provide a wetsuit, impact vest, helmet and wakeboard (no additional charge). If you have any of the above you are welcome to bring them. The towel is for showering afterwards.

It is very rare that we have to cancel due to bad weather. For the person riding rain is not an issue as they will be getting wet anyway and for the people watching we have a cafe which looks out over the cables so they will be able to see everything. We also have hot showers for afterwards.

All you need to bring is swimwear and a towel. We will provide wetsuit, impact vest, helmet and board (there is no additional charge). If you have any of the above and would like to bring your own you are welcome to do so.

We have plenty of wetsuits in all shapes and sizes to fit everyone so you are welcome to borrow one of those (no additional charge).

The lagoon is only waist deep so you are always able to stand up. If you cannot swim at all or are not comfortable in water let us know so that we are aware, you will be fine!

The Wakeboard Taster session is one hour and there will normally be one other person on the session so that you can alternate, watching each other and learning from what they do whilst you rest before going back on the cable again. Apart from the first few minutes where you are taught how to put the board on and the hand signals it is all on the water and yes you will be going along. If you are already able to ride and on a ride session it is also one hour but there will be 4 of you taking it in turns to ride.

At Lagoon Watersports we like to encourage the children to start when they are young so we have some very small sails designed specifically for little people. They are very light so they start with those and as their strength builds and their skills develop they can move to the larger ones.
