What powerboat course does Lagoon Watersports offer?

We have an experienced and professional team of instructors that teach: RYA Powerboat Level 1 and 2 and RYA Safety Boat and the International Certificate of Competence


What experience do I need for RYA Powerboat Level 2?

None. But we would recommend you also complete the VHF Radio course, this gives you the license you need to operate the radio onboard.


What boats do we train on?

We train on our solid and stable RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats). One of our RIBs is 6m with a 90hp engine, the other is 7m with a 200hp engine.


How many people on a powerboat course?

Maximum 3 persons. Private course are available, please contact us.


When do the courses run?

Most weekends March to November. We also can schedule private RYA Powerboat Level 2 on our boats.


Can I learn on my own boat?

Yes, we offer Own Boat Tuition in all the RYA courses. We will give you a check list of equipment you will need onboard and we can assign one of our qualified instructors to teach on your boat. If you do not have a berth in Brighton Marina our instructor...


Where do the powerboat courses start?

The courses start from our base in Brighton Marina: Pontoon 6, Brighton Marina, Brighton, East Sussex BN2 5UP, UK.


What do I need to bring?

We provide specialist equipment. In the winter months it can be cold, thermals, fleeces, woolly hats are all useful to have. During the summer months bring sun hats, sun block and sun glasses. Quick drying clothes can be very practical instead of jeans and good none slip, non marking footwear....
